Racer’s for Health

The Racers for Health in Kahnawake is an annual community event aimed at promoting health and wellness among residents of all ages. It involves various activities, including races that engage participants from different grade levels, from nursery through grade 6. The event fosters community spirit and encourages healthy lifestyles, culminating in a community run where families and neighbors come together to celebrate fitness and camaraderie. It’s a great opportunity for participants to connect, stay active, and support one another in a fun and inclusive environment.

Backyard Ultra – The Meltdown

July 19 – 20, 2025,

Sponsored by the Runners

Join us for the first-ever Kahnawake Backyard Ultra – The Meltdown, a 24-hour challenge where runners tackle a 6.7 loop every hour on the hour. Test your endurance, strategy, and grit in this last-runner-standing showdown. Funds raised will be donated to the Tetewatatia’takéhnhahs/Purple Ribbon Walk and race organization fees.

Every summer, The Runners group eagerly participates in a local race, uniting as a team to embrace the experience together. This event is more than just a race; it symbolizes our collective effort and dedication as we train and support one another throughout the season. As we cross the finish line, we celebrate not only our individual achievements but also the hard work and perseverance that brought us here as a team. The joy of sharing this success strengthens our bonds and motivates us to continue striving for our goals, making each year’s race a highlight of our summer.

Annual Mohawk Miles

The Annual Mohawk Miles is a community event promoting health and wellness through running and walking activities, sponsored by the Kahnawá:ke Youth Center. It offers various distances for participants of all ages, encouraging families and groups to engage in physical activity together. The event fosters community spirit and highlights the importance of an active lifestyle. It is usually held during the last week of September.
